Loaded Goey Bars

OK… if you came here looking for a healthy snack idea… better just back up slowly towards the door and make a run for it… if you came here for a delicious, goey, super rich, sweet, savory, crunchy, chewy dessert idea… well go ahead and take a seat, this won’t take long…


Turn your oven on to 375. Find a 9 x 13 pan and line it with parchment paper. Now spray that paper with a thin shot of cooking spray. Now grab a food processor or Ninja!!! and add in 1/2 cup powdered/confectioner’s sugar.

Next add in some butter chopped into small pieces… this recipe didn’t even start out kinda healthy did it… sorry…

Add in some flour and salt… give that a good pulse. Also add in some oatmeal and pulse again.

I took this before the oatmeal was in there but basically it will look like coarse meal.

Press that into your pan with your fingers…

Bake it for about 20 minutes or until it’s nice and golden.

Sprinkle on some chocolate chips…

and some nuts… peanuts… walnuts… almonds… pecans… whatever…

maybe some sunflower seeds…

and to make myself feel better I sprinkled a tablespoon of ground flax on too 🙂 epitome of health here…

and then drizzle on a can of sweetened condensed milk…

and some sweetened coconut… pop that in the oven for another 20 minutes…

and voila!! Well… then you need to put the whole pan on a cooling rack to let them cool completely before cooking… then you’re set…

check out that toasty coconut and that condensed milk goeyness down in there with chocolate peeking out… nummmmmmmmm

So there ya have it… decadence… deliciousness… guilt… all in one little bar 😉 These are perfect for sharing to prevent yourself from eating 1/2 a pan alone 🙂 Good luck…

Loaded Goey Bars

3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 cups flours, gluten free or regular
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup rolled oats
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup nuts
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1 Tbs ground flax (optional)
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
2 cups sweetened shredded coconut

Heat oven to 375. Line 9 x 13 pan with parchment paper, spray with cooking spray. In a food processor combine powdered sugar, butter, flour, and salt. Pulse then add in oatmeal and pulse until it looks like coarse meal. Press into pan and bake about 20 minutes or until golden brown. Sprinkle on chocolate chips, nuts, seeds, and flax. Drizzle sweetened condensed milk over everything. Sprinkle on coconut. Bake another 20 minutes until coconut is golden. Cool in pan on wire rack until completely cooled.

    These look fantastic. I am not a big fan of peanuts but I know my husband and his co-workers would go crazy over these bars.
